There are thousands of bloggers making money through their blogs, either by selling ads, their own products or services, or by participating in affiliate marketing programs. There is one thing they all have in common – excellent content on their blogs.
Getting Started with Blogging and Making Money
Are you passionate about blogging and want to earn some extra money? A blog is a low-cost business idea that can generate thousands of dollars each month. Here are a few revenue streams used by professional bloggers who earn a full-time income from their blogs.
A lot of people take up blogging as a side gig in hopes of one day quitting their day jobs. However, the amount of time it takes a blogger to generate substantial income varies.
How to Make Money with Blogging
It is easier and faster to make money blogging in some ways while building other revenue streams takes more time and effort.
You can monetize your blog in several ways as a blogger, and you don’t have to choose just one. A variety of revenue streams is actually a good thing to have. If something happens and one revenue stream drops, you still have other monetization options.
In the beginning, we recommend focusing on just one or two. Ensure that one revenue stream is established before moving on to another.
In terms of making money blogging, there is no one “right” way to do it. Your blog topic and audience will determine the revenue streams you choose. Listed below are some of the best, most common methods of making money blogging.
Advertising
The first thing that comes to mind when people think about starting a blog is this revenue stream. This is one of the simplest ways to get started, though it may not be the most lucrative. You can make money with advertising on your blog in multiple ways.
Display Ads
Are you familiar with the experience of visiting a site and seeing advertisements for cars, clothes, or something you were just looking at on Amazon?
Ads like those are display ads. In pay-per-click advertising, the website earns a little bit of money each time you click one of those ads.
To monetize her recipe content, Erin from Erin Lives Whole uses display ads.
In general, we don’t recommend display ads as a way to make money blogging for the following reasons:
- As a result, users have a poorer experience. When you visit a website, how often do you find yourself scrolling through the page without seeing an ad?
- It depends entirely on your traffic. For display ads to be successful, you need a lot of traffic (tens of thousands of visitors per month).
- You lose users when it takes them away from your site. By clicking on your ad, someone may get $0.80, but now they’re buying things on someone else’s site.
Getting started with PPC is easiest with Google AdSense. To make any kind of decent money with display ads, however, you’ll need a lot of traffic. As soon as you’ve got that much traffic, you’ll make more money using an ad management company, such as Mediavine (minimum 25,000 monthly impressions) or AdThrive (minimum 100,000 monthly pageviews).
Overall, display ads aren’t the best way to monetize your blog. Rather than directing people away from your site, there are better ways to make money blogging.
There are other forms of advertising as well.
Sponsored Content
Your site and social media will be able to attract sponsored content once you’ve built an audience.
You get paid for tweeting, posting on Facebook, or writing articles about a company’s products or services. By sharing that content with your audience, you can help them increase brand awareness and, possibly, sales.
For instance, here is a Fitnancials article from Alexis Shcroeder. There’s a disclosure at the top of the article that it’s a sponsored post.
On our website, we have done this with a few companies, but it is not our favorite way to monetize. In the first place, it is a one-time income. Our preferred revenue streams are passive and scalable. In addition, writing that content takes time, and unless you already have an audience, this will not make you much money.
These companies are more willing to pay you for media mentions the larger and more engaged your audience is. New bloggers, therefore, should not use this method of monetization.
Reviews and Giveaways
Doing product or service reviews on your blog or running a giveaway are other ways to advertise.
It is not uncommon for companies to ask bloggers to write reviews about their products on their websites. Bloggers receive free products in exchange for their reviews. Perhaps for a giveaway, you get a product and the winning reader gets another.
If all you want is free stuff, this can be a nice option. Blogging can be a good source of income, but if you want cash, there are better ways to do it.
Affiliate Marketing
Our favorite way to make money from our websites is this.
Using affiliate links, publishers promote products or services made by another retailer or advertiser in exchange for a commission. When an affiliate partner delivers a specific result to a retailer or advertiser, they receive a payout.
Affiliate networks offer a wide range of products and services that you can promote all in one place. If the company you want to promote has a system for earning commissions, you may be able to earn higher commissions by working directly with them.
As you can see in Jean Wang’s article on Extra Petite, she incorporates affiliate links to the clothing items she references.
In affiliate marketing, you create a piece of content once and earn money from it as long as it remains useful to your readers. It’s still a great way to make passive income from your blog, and we think it’s one of the best ways to get started making money with a new blog. You’ll need to update your articles periodically to keep the content relevant.
Digital Products
You can also make money with your blog by selling digital products. You’re not selling someone else’s product or service; you’re creating something of your own and selling it directly.
Digital products come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and features. We’re going to look at what we have seen and consider to be the top three.
Ebooks and Workbooks
There are, however, many bloggers who make good money selling eBooks and workbooks.
The Busy Budgeter’s Rosemarie Groner comes to mind. Budget Boot Camp Workbook, as well as various other workbooks and worksheets, can be purchased for $27.
It is the reader’s involvement or activity that makes a workbook different from an eBook. The majority of the content in an eBook is text with the occasional exercise thrown in for good measure. The purpose of a workbook is to lead your reader through the process of accomplishing something.
Rosemarie guides her reader through the process of organizing their finances and creating a budget in her budgeting workbook, for example. The good thing about eBooks and workbooks is that they’re relatively quick to create, unlike our next digital product.
Online Courses
Over the past few years, this method of monetization has become increasingly popular. Bloggers who earn significant incomes online often sell premium courses.
With their digital products and online courses, Alex and Lauren from Create and Go make over $50,000 per month.
The cost of creating a course is higher than that of other digital products, but the profit margin is higher as well.
Membership Sites
Membership sites are essentially online communities with a membership fee. A monthly fee gives subscribers access to premium content, such as weekly classes, workbooks and printables, video lessons, tutorials, and more.
Think of it as a mix of teaching and community building.
Meera Kothand offers pre-recorded and live monthly training, a members-only community group, and customized one-on-one coaching in her ADDICTED Business Academy.
You can monetize your website or blog with memberships, but they’re not a good fit for most beginner bloggers. As a starting point, we recommend affiliate marketing and smaller digital products.
Services
In addition to being the fastest way to make money with your blog, offering services is also the least scalable. While building your other income streams, you can make money working for others using your blog as your portfolio. As a new blogger, here are some of the best services to offer.
Digital Marketing
Blogging is about much more than just writing and publishing articles if you haven’t realized it yet. As you build your blog, you learn about social media strategies, design, SEO, content marketing, etc.
Digital marketing encompasses many of these things, and they are highly valuable to other companies.
Millennial Money Man Bobby Hoyt realized that soon after starting his blog. During the time, his site wasn’t earning him any money, so he needed to come up with another way to earn money. Then he started offering his services to other businesses (Facebook ads, writing online content, social media strategy, etc.) based on what he learned from blogging.
It was a nice little side hustle that allowed him to continue building his blog and growing his online business. Since then, he has become a full-time blogger and earns money by teaching other bloggers how to run Facebook ads for other companies.
Virtual Assistant
Online entrepreneurs are in high demand for virtual assistants. Including administrative tasks, design, and email marketing, virtual assistants can assist business owners with everything they need.
Depending on your skills and experience, your services will vary. If you have impeccable spelling and grammar, you could proofread articles for other websites as part of your service.
As a mom and lifestyle blogger, Jenny Weg started bringing in $2,000 per month offering virtual assistant services immediately after starting her blog.
Freelance Writing
As a new blogger, this is one of the easiest and most common services to offer. Why not get paid to write content for someone else’s website if you are already writing for your own?
Getting your name out there and practicing your writing skills are significant benefits of freelancing. As a bonus, it is ideal for building authority in your niche if you write for sites that relate to your niche.
Some bloggers earn upwards of six figures each year as freelance writers, so don’t mistake “freelancing’ for “working for pennies.”.
I provide coaching, graphic design, public speaking, social media management, and video editing services. It really doesn’t matter what you do, there’s no limit to what you can do. Consider your skills and experiences and offer something you know how to do or learn something new.
How to Make $1,000 Blogging: A Guide for Beginners
You’re now familiar with the different ways to monetize a blog, so let’s talk strategy.
You can make money with your blog within a few months if you follow every single step in this article.
As a result, earning your first $1,000 blogging is probably going to be some of the most challenging money you’ve ever earned.
Flipping hamburgers is a much easier way to make $1,000.
Nevertheless, once you reach $1,000, there are no limits.
If you get past the initial hurdle of profitability, your blog will grow rapidly and your life will change dramatically. In order to get there, all you need to do is stick with it.
Blogs can help you make a full-time income from home (and eventually more than a full-time income), so you can escape your 9-to-5 job.
No matter how much experience you have, here are the exact steps you need to follow to make $1,000 blogging.
Step 1: Pick a niche for your blog
One of the biggest mental roadblocks people see are people who think they need to come up with something completely original.
If you think that you can only write about something you are passionate about, you will be disappointed.
Here’s something for you: You don’t have to be “passionate” about the topics you write about. Although you may be interested in the topics, no one is particularly drawn to writing about them. There are indeed a million blogs out there that cover the same topic as yours. Despite the fact that the Internet is a huge place, there is enough space for all of us to get along.
Why not write about something you are passionate about?
Your blogging decisions should be treated as business decisions if you want to make money. If you want to choose a niche for your blog, you should use some common sense:
The following are some things to keep in mind:
- You should write about something that interests you. If not, it won’t be enjoyable and you’ll lose interest.
- Find something people will also be interested in. In the event that you decide to write about Himalayan basket weaving for men, you are unlikely to have many readers, and you will have a difficult time making a living. You should choose something that combines your interests with things that other people are also interested in.
- The topic of your post does not require you to be a world-class expert. It’s just a matter of knowing a little bit more than your readers about your topic.
Step 2: Create a blog (if you don’t already have one)
Obviously, you need a blog before you can make money from it. It is possible to skip this step if your blog is already set up.
First of all, good job doing your research if you haven’t started your blog yet. Eventually, you’re going to have to stop researching and get started. That’s the purpose of this step.
The meaning of WordPress may be unclear to you even if you’ve heard of it.
Blogs are powered by WordPress, so think of it as the backbone. Unlike other content management systems (or CMS), it is easy to use (and powerful). Regular people like you and many others can build and run websites without being web developers with WordPress.
The best part is, you don’t need to know a single line of code in order to get started with WordPress.
Starting a blog is as easy as choosing between “Self-Hosted” on WordPress and “Free WordPress.”
When it comes to making money from your blog, self-hosted WordPress is the best choice.
The downside of this approach is that you have no flexibility in terms of site design, usability, or monetization since you have to pay for your own web hosting yourself.
HostGator offers inexpensive hosting, especially when you use our coupon code. Your hosting plan should not cost more than a few dollars per month, depending on your needs.
Between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, there are a few key differences.
WordPress’ free version doesn’t give you much flexibility when it comes to changing your site. If you use the free version of WordPress, WordPress owns your site (meaning it’s technically not even yours). When you use the free version of WordPress, your website link will look unprofessional; instead of the .com ending, it will say something along the lines of “yourwebsite.wordpress.com”.
Are there any successful bloggers using the free version of WordPress (in terms of income)?
It’s a good idea to self-host your blog if you want to make money blogging.
Step 3: Produce Helpful Content
Having chosen a niche you are comfortable writing about and have set up your blog, you should be ready to write.
Writing epic blog posts is the next step after setting up your blog.
When you want to earn income from your blog, you must be strategic about the type of content you write and how you write it.
This is a basic framework you can use to plan your content, at least to get started. In this tutorial, we will teach you how to write articles that you are sure people will enjoy. If you are writing to an audience of zero, you won’t waste your time.
It’s as simple as that.
The effectiveness of this strategy lies in its simplicity.
There are already successful bloggers in whatever niche you’re writing about. There is probably a lot of it.
As long as they are successful, there is no harm in emulating them.
Having said that, stay cool. Copying them outright is not a good idea.
Finding topics to write about is another option
It can also be helpful to find out what people are already searching for if the goal is to create content people want to read. You can build free organic traffic from Google by using this strategy.
- See what comes up when you type in some phrases related to your niche on Pinterest
- Visit Google and look at the “related searches” for a phrase or problem you’re familiar with
- UberSuggest is a free keyword tool that you can use
Bloggers commonly believe you have to pay for complicated and expensive keyword research tools to do SEO. However, that’s not the case. Finding keywords for your articles can be done with free SEO tools. Keywords that can actually help your blog rank highly, not just any keywords.
Topic ideas will never run out when you know what people want to read.
Trinity Owen’s eBook Get Your Keywords Together at The Pay at Home Parent is a great resource for free keyword research tools.
Trinity began working as a freelance SEO in 2015. In 2017, she earned more than $50,000 per year increasing organic traffic to clients’ websites. In order to find the right keywords, she only uses free tools, manual Google searches, and some critical thinking skills.
Make content that serves a purpose
There should be a purpose behind every piece of content you create:
- Using affiliate marketing to make money
- Building an email list by getting people to sign up
- Increasing your Facebook group’s size
- Establishing your authority
It’s important to remember that when writing anything. Make sure your reader knows what you want him or her to do next, and ask them to do it if necessary.
It takes practice to become perfect
It takes practice to figure out what type of content to create. Writing articles will probably lead to you deleting some later, but that’s okay. It’s happened to all of us (trust me).
The more you write, the more you learn about your audience, and the more you practice, the better you will be at creating high-quality content.
Your blog posts should be structured in a way that will make people want to read them
It is important to remember not to use walls of text anywhere. The quickest way to kill a blog post is to use massive amounts of text.
We were taught in school to write in a certain way, but that is not the way you want to write for your blog. Readers will not want to stay on your website if you have big paragraphs, pages, pages of solid text, etc.
Therefore, there will be no long paragraphs. How about the structure? Is blogging like writing an essay for you?
In both cases, yes and no.
Again, breaking up your articles into bite-sized chunks is key here.
You should write enough posts to fill up the homepage of your theme (so it doesn’t look empty). Next, it’s time to move forward.
Step 4: Become An Expert On ONE Social Network
Most people try to be everywhere, all the time when they start blogging.
There are a lot of social media outlets out there, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon, Quora, Quibb, and so on.
Do you know what else?
Their traffic has sucked for a long time. This is when they decided to try Pinterest, a platform many people had never used before.
Getting high rankings on Google is not going to happen overnight for new websites, but Pinterest can help. If you’re a new blogger, this is the best way to get your name out there.
What you need to know about dominating Pinterest and growing your traffic
Getting your first steady stream of traffic from Pinterest should be your exclusive focus for most new bloggers. At this stage in your blog’s development, it is the best use of your time.
In this section, we’ll go over the basics of getting your account set up, but if you would like to learn how to increase your Pinterest traffic, check out Pinterest Traffic Avalanche by Create and Go.
Set up a business account and Rich Pins
It’s important that you don’t use a personal Pinterest account to build your website’s Pinterest profile.
Having a business account gives you access to Pinterest Analytics and the ability to create “Rich Pins.” With a business account, you can also pay Pinterest to promote your pins, but that’s not essential. Before we figured out that we could make our pins go viral without the help of ads, we experimented with $50 worth of promoted pins.
With rich pins, you can add a bold link title to your pin description to make your pin stand out. The process of getting rich pins is quite easy (and free, don’t worry). It only takes a few minutes to confirm your website on Pinterest.
Make a “Best Of” board
Creating your “Best Of” board is the next step after creating a business account.
The goal of this board is to house only pins linking to your own content. This is not the place for pinning other people’s work. There are a lot of other boards you can (and should) make.
Other Pinterest users will be looking at this board when they examine your account and decide whether or not to follow you. This board will provide them with a sense of what type of content you are adding to Pinterest. Make sure that you include all the keywords users may be searching for in your board description.
It would be ideal to have at least 50 pins on this board. Content doesn’t have to be that many pieces if you don’t have any.
Each blog post should be pinned multiple times
There are a few reasons why this is important.
The first thing you should do is run an A/B test on your pins.
Use different image backgrounds, different calls to action (CTAs), and even different keywords in your description.
Another benefit of making multiple pins is that it makes it easier for you to increase your Best Of board’s pin count. You’ll need this portfolio when it comes time to apply for group boards since you’ll need it to be able to share your pins.
Make your pins stand out by branding them
In order to be recognized on the platform, you need a rock-solid branding strategy.
The majority of people use Canva or Photoshop to make their pins, but old-fashioned people still use PowerPoint. Any method you find most convenient is fine. Using PowerPoint for projects in school is also what most people use to create pins.
Become a member of group boards
This is where Pinterest really shines. You don’t have to have many followers to succeed on Pinterest…it’s all about how engaged your followers are.
It may be helpful to set up group boards for this purpose.
People can post to a group board from someone else’s profile if they have been given access. As a result, when you join a group board, you are given free access to someone else’s followers.
When you have fewer than 1,000 followers, group boards can still be a powerful tool for increasing your reach and driving more traffic to your website, especially when they’re not as effective as they once were.
What is the process for joining these group boards?
You should begin by compiling a list of boards you would like to join. You can find out what group boards some of the top accounts in your niche contribute to by looking at what they contribute to. Alternatively, you can search for group boards around different topics using PinGroupie.com.
It is not worth your time to join every group board with a large following. The quality score and engagement of each board can be seen with a tool like Tailwind. Don’t waste your time contributing to a board that has a lot of activity from pinners but low engagement from followers.
Each group board administrator will have a different method of applying to their board. Some want you to send them an email, some prefer a direct message, some want comments, and some don’t give you any instructions.
Automate your pinning
Your time shouldn’t be spent on Pinterest when you’re working on your blog or website.
It is here that a Pinterest scheduler comes into play.
You can use software that takes care of all that for you instead of having to manually pin everything to your group boards all the time (along with finding others’ stuff to pin). The best part is that it’s free.
There are a few different programs we’ve used, but Tailwind is by far our favorite.
Tailwind is one of the best marketing tools because it tells you what group boards are performing well. Having that information allows you to focus more on what works (and eliminate what doesn’t).
In addition to Pinterest group boards, Tailwind also has a feature called tribes. It is essentially a group of people in your niche who blog together. All Tribe members contribute content to the Tribe and share each other’s content.
If you aren’t ready for the paid version yet, you don’t have to purchase it. When it comes to growing your traffic, you should invest if you want to try Tailwind for free. Investing in our blog early on was one of the best things we ever did.
You should reapply to group boards that you haven’t heard from
You shouldn’t give up just because you were rejected the first time. The following are a few reasons why you should revisit your spreadsheet on a regular basis:
- Your DM, email, etc. might have been missed by the board owner.
- Back then, your profile might not have been good enough, but now it’s much better.
- Your name may have just slipped their minds.
Don’t let what happened the first time stop you from contacting them again. There is no risk involved.
Remember to remain polite and courteous, and don’t use the exact same script.
Step 5: Your Blog Will Begin To Generate Income When You Begin Monetizing It
There’s a quick truth: most bloggers never make any money from their blogs.
It’s because they skip straight to the “making money” steps without laying the necessary foundation. They give up when they don’t see income when they do blog monetization.
Blogs can make money, but is it realistic? Yes, of course. Does it seem easy to do? No, definitely not.
Making money blogging takes time. Making your first $1,000 on the internet is one of the most challenging things you’ll ever do. The income you can earn after that hurdle is limitless. The $1K month leads to the $2K month, the $5K month, the $10K month, then the $25K month, then the $80K month.
In order to proceed with this section, you should have done the following:
- Pick a topic you enjoy and that appeals to a wide audience.
- Create a blog.
- You’ve written your first five to ten high-quality posts.
- A social media presence has been established on one site.
- Your site should receive at least 5,000 visitors per month. Pinterest is worth a revisit if you aren’t already there.
It is impossible to make money from a blog without traffic. The truth is that’s the case.
The remainder of this section assumes that the above items have been completed. You must build a solid foundation for your business.
Starting off as a blogger is the best way for most new freelancers to start earning money
Affiliate marketing is a commission-based form of advertising on your blog that generates most of the freelancing income today. It is our favorite way to make money blogging and one that we recommend you implement as soon as possible.
You get a small fee for every sale, lead, or signup that your blog generates. The average commission is between $1 and $100.
You should use this model when promoting content that directly relates to your content. On this website, for instance, we promote affiliates that help our readers earn and save money.
Affiliate marketing is the best way for new bloggers to learn how to sell. You need a lot of time and effort to create your own products, and then you need even more effort to promote them. There’s just too much risk involved. Taking a commission on sales of an already successful product is a much better way to start out.
For a new blogger, affiliate marketing is just the most practical way to earn money. Besides, it can be a really good source of income.
How to find affiliate products to promote on your blog
I hope you already have a few products in mind that you personally use and like.
Go back to the leaders in your niche if you don’t find what you’re looking for. In addition to selling their own products, they probably do some affiliate marketing on their blog.
Check out their most popular posts. In these posts, what do you see them promoting?
The chances are that an affiliate product that appears in the most popular articles of a successful blogger is making the blogger a lot of money.
If you are familiar with and believe in the product, it might make sense for you to promote it. Affiliate sales can be converted more effectively by being authentic.
Promoting your favorite products can be fun
The affiliate products you want to promote on your blog should be 5-10 affiliate products related to your niche that you have seen other bloggers in your niche promote. The time has come to become an affiliate.
Networks of affiliates
An affiliate network connects bloggers with companies that advertise via affiliate marketing. Once you join a network, you’ll be able to apply to all affiliates within that network immediately.
Our recommendation is to join the following networks:
- FlexOffers
- CJ
- ImpactRadius
- ShareASale
- Amazon Associates
Although there are many other networks, these big players should cover most of your needs.
Send the company an email and ask them if they have an affiliate program if you don’t find them on any of these sites.
Analyze which of your posts receive the most traffic
You will use this as a starting point for placing affiliate links on your blog.
You will go back and edit your old posts.
Consider dropping an affiliate link in areas of those articles where you see opportunities. The importance of authenticity cannot be overstated – don’t force it.
In affiliate marketing (where you are essentially recommending products to your readers), text links are far more effective than pre-made banners. There is a higher level of trust when links are text-based in an article, as they feel more natural and “real.”
Search through all of your articles to find opportunities to include affiliate links. There is no quick fix for this; it will take time, but always strive to improve your old content.
The content strategy you will follow in the future
You are running a business with your blog.
Remember, your readers are your first priority. You should always provide value to your readers, regardless of whether they click on your affiliate links.
Your blog will lose readers if it becomes an affiliate spam fest.
Every time you write, make sure you consider what information the reader needs and wants. An article like this one that provides information, such as how to do something, shouldn’t include a lot of affiliate links.
The time has come to promote Michelle Schroeder-Gardner’s affiliate marketing course, which many people have taken and are now affiliates of. (She earns over $50K a month from affiliate marketing). Her affiliate marketing course covers affiliate marketing. Fits perfectly.
Choose another monetization method
There are a variety of ways to make money blogging, besides affiliate marketing (ads, digital products, services, etc.).
In addition to affiliate marketing, choose another monetization method and grow it alongside affiliate marketing. A service is often the fastest way to make money with a blog, so that can be a good place to start.
It is also possible to go with more passive display ads. However, until you get a significant amount of traffic, you will not see much money from this one. In contrast, it is a more passive method of providing services.
You can shift your affiliate marketing revenue to other revenue streams (such as sponsored content or digital products) once your affiliate marketing revenue takes off.
Frequently Asked Questions
Your blueprint for making money blogging is now complete. As we wrap up, let’s take a look at some of the most common questions new bloggers ask.
Blogs can make you a lot of money, but how much?
That question, along with “How long does it take to make money blogging?” Every new blogger asks these two questions.
It depends on:
- Your work ethic,
- What your willingness to fail is (because you will fail, everyone does), and
- You can choose the methods of monetization you want to use.
It took every famous blogger a long time to get to where they are now, but their websites now generate an enormous amount of money per month. Certainly, they could have saved a lot of time and effort if they had been willing to learn from others earlier (like you are right now) rather than trying to figure everything out on their own.
There are plenty of bloggers who make more than us, and there are plenty of bloggers who make less.
Blogging has the advantage of being limitless. Blogging can be a lucrative business in several ways. As liberating as it is terrifying, that is both liberating and terrifying.
It’s possible to make a thousand dollars extra per month on top of your full-time job.
Would you like to build a seven-figure digital media empire while traveling the world? It is also possible.
The popularity of blogging and online business is due to this reason.
It is possible to be free when you blog.
Being your own boss, traveling, working from anywhere, and not worrying about money. Despite that, things aren’t always rainbows and sunshine. A blog involves a lot of work behind the scenes.
What is the average time it takes to make money blogging?
Depending on your goals and monetization methods, it will vary. With the blueprint outlined in this article, you can probably start making money within 4-6 months if you focus only on what moves the ball forward (creating intentional content and getting traffic).
The first year of blogging has also seen bloggers earn six figures. There’s no doubt this isn’t the norm, but who’s to say you couldn’t do it, too? It really depends on you how long it takes to make money blogging.
Is there a type of blog that makes money?
Certain blog niches are easier to monetize than others, even though many different types of blogs can make money. Most profitable businesses tend to focus on topics that people already spend money and time on or that can help improve their lives in some way, such as:
- Wellness and health
- Finances for individuals
- Making money and doing business
- Nutrition and food
- The fashion industry
This is a list of some of the most profitable blog niches, but it is far from comprehensive. When choosing a blog topic, think about what you can write about/are interested in and what others already pay money for.
Is there a quick way for beginners to start making money blogging?
Achieving any goal is easier if you focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact. The basics of blogging, especially for beginners, are:
- You should write high-quality content that has a purpose (selling, growing your email list, etc.)
- Attracting visitors to your website
- Providing a product or service that solves your readers’ problems (yours or someone else’s, in the case of affiliate marketing)
Although offering services is the fastest way to make money blogging, this list assumes that you’re blogging to make a passive, scalable income. Therefore, every action you take at the beginning should focus on one of these three things. The branding of your website, the logo, and the formation of an LLC are not the same. Don’t let anything distract you from your money-generating activities.
